Dr Meryl James Clinical Psychologist has been here with Rothery Health in Pembroke for well over 2 years now.
As a clinical psychologist she offers in-person and online video therapy to adults and young people in Pembrokeshire with mental health issues .
Dr Meryl has had more than 20 years’ experience working in the NHS, working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and complexity . She is also a member of the HCPC as a registered Clinical Psychologist. Meryl has had a great deal of experience in health psychology, including: cancer care, weight management including obesity (i.e. emotional eating; binge eating disorder; disordered eating; self-sabotaging; body image distress; low confidence; low self-esteem); living with the effects of physical illness; palliative care and bereavement; healthy living and behaviour change.
She also has a wealth of experience working with mental health, including: stress and anxiety; social anxiety; health anxiety; depression; low self-esteem; body image issues and ‘burnout’ from stressful work and home environments. Plus working with adults who have sustained a physical injury or brain injury, She also has worked with parents/ families whose child has sustained such an injury at birth or during their early years. Together, she would work to develop a shared understanding of your strengths and difficulties, drawing on a range of therapy models, tailored to your specific needs such as:
